If you would like to make a straight-forward donation for us to use for any purpose agreed by the committee, you can make a bank transfer. Please use our contact form to request our bank details. Alternatively, you can post a cheque made payable to Friends of Culvers House to the school or we can also accept cash by prior arrangement.
If you are a UK tax payer and would like to donate money, please fill in a Gift Aid Declaration so that we can claim the tax back from HMRC. This costs you nothing but increases your donation by 25% i.e. for every £1 you donate, we get £1.25. If you are a higher rate tax payer, you can personally reclaim the tax you paid over the basic tax rate, too.
If you would like to donate money for a particular project, we are happy to accept such 'restricted funds' provided that your chosen project falls within the scope of things allowed by our constitution. The committee can provide guidance if you are unsure. Acceptance of restricted funds will be confirmed at a committee meeting. Of course, school will need to agree to your project, too! Please contact us to discuss restricted funds.
Year 6 leavers:
We know that some families will want to leave the school a gift as their child moves on to secondary school. Please consider donating via Friends of Culvers House. As mentioned above, we can claim an extra 25% on your donation and we are happy to accept restricted funds, so you can specify what you would like us to give it to school to buy. Read more here.
We always welcome new volunteers. Whether you have something in mind (you can see roles we're currently recruiting for here) or don't know what you'd like to do, get in touch and we'll email you to discuss how you can get involved.
We are always on the look-out for good quality, desirable items to use as raffle prizes, so if you have something that might be suitable we'll happily take it off your hands! We are also happy to accept any item that we can use for our events and activities.
Please note that due to covid-19 restrictions, our ability to sort and store donations is very limited. We can only accept donations (other than uniform) if you contact us first. Items left with uniform donations may have to be thrown away.
During the year, we usually have donation days where we request specific items from school families:
November - chocolate
November - gifts for adults
November - cakes and other baked treats
November - teddies
January - unwanted Christmas gifts
June - preloved or new children's prizes e.g. toy, game, stationery, party bag toys
June - unopened bottles
June - cakes and other baked treats
Year-round - uniform
We appreciate it if you can save items listed above until the donation day, as our storage space is limited, but we can accept them at any time if you contact us.
If you would like to make a donation as a business, we would love to discuss how we can help each other. Please get in touch.
