Friends of Culvers House Meeting – Friday 7th June 2024

Agenda

1.       Summer Fair

·        Flyers and letters have been emailed to the school office. Raffle tickets went out this week.

·        There will be Krispy Kreme pre-order for the summer fair with usual conditions. Pick up between 11am-1pm. Doughnuts can be bought on the day.

·        Voucher/Donation update – Angela is following up on a few. Spreadsheet has been created for future fairs so we can contact the same companies and have the appropriate contact details.

·        Lego – a set has been bought by the PTA as a prize for the raffle

·        Wristbands and personalised stamp – Lucia ordered. Each wristband will be stamped with the ‘Friends of Culvers House’ stamp to ensure wristbands are bought thru the PTA and avoid any issues.

·        Wristband pre-sale – These will be sold at £8 each on the 28/6 and 6/7 at 3:30pm in the community room. Volunteers will be needed to ensure the PTA can run the pre-sale and the ice-cream sale. Wristbands will be £10 on the day. Games can be PAYG if you do not want to buy a wristband.

·        Volunteers lists to be posted on the classroom doors have been sent to the office to be distributed to each classroom

·        Teacher volunteers – Miss Garvey will be encouraging more teachers to volunteer as currently there are only a few

·        Splash zone – Year 6 will be running this stall

·        ‘Find the gold’ game – Beth has kindly donated the medals

·        Ice-creams – tubs and spoons have been ordered. Toppings (chocolate/strawberry) and sprinkles to be bought

·        Craft – soil has been donated. Laura to source seeds and pens.

·        Gazebo’s – these have all been checked. 6 are usable and tagged with green zips ties at the base. 1 is not usable, tagged with red.

·        Mrs Kelly has agreed for equipment to be used in the under 5 area however must be returned at the end of the fair.

·        Sinead has kindly offered to collect the KK’s on the morning of the fair. Lucia will text her the order details.

·        Food – Pizza Hut, Domino’s and other local pizza places were approached in person for similar deals that the PTA were offered for a previous fair many years ago. Unfortunately, they were unable to offer those deals.

Hazel (in charge  of school kitchen) has offered to run the kitchen and do loaded fries which will be quick and easy. It was suggested could we do nuggets as well. Lucia will talk to Hazel.

Lucia – kitchen: order cutlery/plates, discuss with Hazel whether nuggets could be another option for the kitchen

Lucia – ask office to print sheets for kids to collect their stamps

Felicity – follow up with Wicks re: gazebo donation

 

2.       AOB

·        Scootability (scooter school) – 13th Sept for YR 1 and 2. Miss Garvey will feedback and if it is successful, further funding of courses to other year groups can be considered

·        Date for Christmas Fair

·        Query with school if PTA meeting can alternate from one month Friday, one month a different date to attract more members – Lucia to check with school

·        Sinead – to donate toilet seat which can be used for a winter fair game

·        Thank you postcards – Angela to organise these for businesses that have donated

·        Uniform sale in September – date TBC

·        New parent’s coffee morning – date TBC. Lucia to speak to school. Suggested we have school uniform available to buy on the day. Will need to ensure this is well advertised.

·        Angela to look into options for food truck for next fairs (pitch fee/profit to be discussed)
