Friends of Culvers House Meeting 13/09/2024

Present: Lucia, Felicity, Helianne, Angela, Francesca, Laura, Natalie, Afshan, Kim, Karen

A general meeting was held after the AGM.

1. Upcoming Events

- Disco 6th November, volunteers will be required for KS1 and KS2 and clean up. Helianne and Angela happy with support. Lucia will be with DJ from 2pm. Parents will be informed in advance.

Discussed the possibility of having extra snacks for children, but due to lack of volunteer and total time of the event this cant be achieved.

- Christmas Jumper sort and sale will be organised by Felicity. Donations will be collected as per pre-loved uniform. Sort/Sale 15th November

- Christmas Fair 7th December, to prepare from 11th October. Perhaps selling donuts as well.

2. Volunteer Positions

- Krispy Kreme: Kim volunteered to take this on this responsibility. This will include to submit order, collect pre-order money, create pre-order list, collect KK, organise volunteers. The date for sale will be confirmed upfront.

- Social Media: Felicity has volunteered to do social media. She has updated the website and being doing all the posters. She will directly liase with Chair before posting any social media.

3. Future Ideas

- Fab brics: Personalised brick (lego) keyring with name. Has been done in 2021. It costs £3.25, and PTA will get £1 for each one sold

- Magician performance: perhaps in February. There won’t be costs to PTA

- Scootability was postponed for the 25th September.

Other Topics Discussed

» Banner, ordered from a company with no costs associated as their company will be advertised this way. It will be placed on the fence opposite to the park. It will be updated on regular basis with information for Parents regarding PTA. It will be order one each here for Christmas and summer fair.

» Easyfunding raising, a website/app to raise funds for the school with no extra costs. Already raised £200 with just two users, The instructions to sign up will be sent again via social media.

» AsdaCashpot for schools, another app that raised already £80. The instructions to sign up also in  social media. This initiative will be valid for more 78 days.

» Sponsorship for PTA has been discussed last year. Those who signed can get gold (£250), silver (£100) or bronze package (£50). Possibility to advertise business with logo, stalls over one or all events of the year. A tuition company and mortgage company joined this initiative.

» Sponsored Climb, Lucia will climb Kilimanjaro next year and would like to raise the funds for Friends of Culvers House. A website will be search to get the best value money.

» New Whatsaap group for volunteering only. On PTA website the request to join the group can be made and rules associated to same as well.
